Our goal is to make your first visit as informative as possible. We want you to leave with a complete understanding of all your treatment and financial options and a familiarity with each team members' role in your orthodontic care. We work very closely with the general dentists in our area and appreciate their commitment to the dental health and well being of each of their patients. As a courtesy to them, no fee is charged for the initial evaluation including digital photographs, digital panorex x-ray or any future reevaluation visits prior to treatment. After your initial visit, you and your dentist will receive a detailed letter outlining our orthodontic findings and recommendations, as well as copies of the photographs. In addition, a copy of the panoramic x-ray is provided for your dentist's records.

When you arrive for your visit, Linda Lockman or Gina Strafaci our scheduling coordinators, will greet you and show you how to sign in on our reception area computer. Parents, please feel free to help yourself to a cup of coffee and kids are welcome to play Nintendo 64 or Sony Playstation games in our arcade area! Brooke Blue, our Treatment Coordinator, will start by giving you a tour of the office. She will also take a series of digital photographs as well as a digital panorex x-ray to assist the doctor with their diagnosis. The doctor will then conduct a complete orthodontic clinical exam. The findings and the benefits of any necessary treatment with be then discussed in detail with you.

For some children, orthodontic treatment is indicated but would be better accomplished after further growth and development. If this is the case, your child would be reevaluated every six to twelve months until the timing is ideal to begin orthodontic care. There is no charge for these follow-up visits. If the orthodontic treatment is indicated, the next step would be to have diagnostic records taken. This appointment generally takes about 30-45 minutes and will include any necessary x-rays and study models. These records will be used by the doctors to finalize a treatment plan geared to your special individual needs. Recognizing the scheduling constraints of many people, we have set aside time at the end of each exam whenever possible, which allows us to take diagnostic records the same day. You are under no obligation to have these records taken, but by reserving the time, we offer the convenience of taking the diagnostic records immediately for those patients who are interested.

After careful analysis of the diagnostic records, we will arrange a treatment consultation to review your orthodontic treatment needs and individualized treatment plan, finalize financial arrangements, schedule appointments, and address any additional questions or concerns. We will be happy to answer any of your financial or insurance questions.

Our office feels that finances should never be an obstacle to treatment. Financial questions may be answered in "Your Investment" section of our website. Our goal is to work with you to provide a variety of financial options for you to choose from. The fees for orthodontic treatment vary according to the complexity of the case. We do accept most insurance carriers and will call to clarify orthodontic coverage for you. Once treatment has begun, we will handle the claim filing for you. In addition, we offer both automatic checking withdrawal and automatic credit card payments.
